While you are pampered at the spa, you definitely pay for what you get. It is worthwhile now and again to have someone treat you, but you don’t have to wait until you can afford to go again to have your next pampering session. You can pamper yourself by doing a home facial!

Most of us have regular facial cleaning routines that include cleaning, maybe toning, and moisturizing. Probably most of us also exfoliate occasionally and maybe even do a mask now and again. The combination of these things could essentially be considered to be a home facial, but you can make it even more special by creating your own beauty products!

That’s right; you can develop your own line of skin care products to use when you give yourself a home facial. You might even invite the girls around to your house to enjoy the homemade goodness with you. Making facial masks and cleaners from natural ingredients you have at home is fun, easy and good for you, too!

Many of the ingredients that you have sitting around in your kitchen can be very beneficial to your skin. If your skin is oily cucumber and green tea are two ingredients you can use. For dry skin olive oil and avocado are two good moisturizing ingredients.

Making facial cleaners is not difficult. Exfoliators can be made too, using plain sugar or brown sugar to do the scrubbing, mixed with some olive oil. Oatmeal is also a good and gentle exfoliator for your face. Mix in some honey for more natural nutrition and spread it on your face, and just try to keep yourself from eating it!

There is an abundance of interesting and helpful masks and scrubs you can make from scratch at home. It doesn’t take much time and you can give yourself a natural home facial as a break from seeing the professionals but with similar great results.

Making your own products is a green way to go as you are not adding harsh chemicals to the water as they go down the drain. You are also not throwing away plastic packaging for your face mask. A natural home facial is good for you, for your wallet and for the environment.
